Page 2 of 2 When I look at all the world religious leaders today the one I would consider to be the most Christian in his words and actions would have to be His Holiness, The Dalai Lama. He truly lives most of the teachings of Jesus. So what is acceptable defensible behavior? What is Christian behavior? Forgiveness, compassion, empathy and surrender to a higher power. Of course all of this takes faith. How much? Very little actually; simply because even the smallest amount of faith is complete faith. We either have faith or we don’t and in truth all of us have faith. Therefore all of us have all the faith we could need to transform the world into the place of our highest dreams right now. The problem is not a lack of faith; the problem is completely what we have chosen to put our faith in. We have chosen to put our faith in things separate from ourselves rather than the Divine Presence that encompasses us and all life; that expresses from within. What is separate from us could fail us; therefore we must be prepared to defend ourselves. Most people are in denial of an indwelling presence. In fact there are probably some who are in such firm denial of this presence that just reading this causes them to squirm. Good! That is the first step in the realization that there is no thing that we need ever defend ourselves from. Because truly there is God and nothing but God, by any and all names that is the one indivisible Infinite that all life individualizes. So really when we choose to live from within we discover that there is no action of defense that is necessary. Of course we can only prove this philosophy by really practicing it. As Mahatma Gandhi once said, “Be the change you wish to see.”
