So why do so many continue to avoid, deny and negate these incredibly rich ideas?  Simply because it takes work to make a change! 

All the ideas in the world won’t make the slightest difference to anyone if they are not put into action.  As the saying goes, “Use it or lose it.”

In all the many people I have met who have been successful in this practice, none believed it was anything like just snapping your fingers and having your world turn around.  They recognized that in almost all instances even simple shifts take a good deal of work.  They take work and, more importantly, they take a community of people who believe in your ability to change.

For most people this is why all this stuff doesn’t seem to work. 

I recently went to a workshop with my wife.  The facilitator said the number one cause of failure for any person was that person.  He then went on to say the number two cause was the person sitting next to us, our significant other. (Before you look at your partner remember the number one cause is you and you can only ever change you).  

To really make change it is imperative that we have an environment of true support, where those around us really do believe in us.

The teachings of “The Secret” really do work just like all those other teachings that abound, but only when we stay with them day after day, moment to moment, instant by instant. And for most of us that means community; we need our own positive spiritual “AA” group. 

In the words of Henry Ward Beecher “The difference between perseverance and obstinacy, is that one often comes from a strong will, and the other from a strong won't.”
