Page 2 of 2 That day is approaching and beyond a doubt many people will participate; likely millions. Many people won’t participate because such an activity doesn’t fit into their idea of normal activity. It carries the wrong accent for their traditional language so (even though it is for something they would in principle agree with; establishing peace health and harmony on this planet) they will not participate. Some will judge it and the participants as too weird, as I am sure many declared of Jesus in his time. Others may go so far as to declare it satanic work and encourage their community not to participate even though in their next breath they might declare agreement prefaced with several scriptural quotes out of context. The question here for each of us is: Where do I stand? Will I, based on my spiritual accent, choose to incarcerate the world or will I set it free? The other night I watched the movie, “All The Kings Men”. At one point a person of prominent lineage is asked to publicly endorse the opening of a university by a political figure he finds exceedingly loathsome. The person asking for his endorsement knows he will acquiesce because the university, the cause, is something he believes in, he is bound by his integrity. How many of us hold our values for good above our opinions, beliefs and biases? How many of us will take a moment at 4:11 in the morning to sit up and let our focus be our love for this world. Many will, my hope is that more than we can imagine will. As the saying goes “United we stand; divided we fall.” I would truly like to believe that where the cause is so great as the transformation of our world, and the gift is so small as an hour of our time in the early morning, all people would put aside their little differences, about whose is the correct way of praying, and join together for the good of all. Who knows; it may happen.
