Page 2 of 2 I am quite sure that if all of you who read this try it, most of you would within the week find yourselves quickly developing excuses to avoid even five minutes of silence a day. I am also quite sure that if you persevere through the initial discomfort, if you create a habit of this quiet routine, you will thank yourself forever as you watch your life transform in wondrous little ways. Robert Russell wrote that habit was “God's way of making good automatic in your life.” There is no habit that will lead to more positive change than the habit of shutting up our inner critic by listening without judgment. We will in this one activity find ourselves guided to the perfect practices of healthy living. Once we stop listening to the inundation of information constantly being forced upon us and start listening to our inner guidance we will find life so very much richer. And that in itself without a bit of physical action will cause the winter excesses to fall away.
Blessings,
