Why has it continued to be so hard for humanity to realize that peace can only be had through peaceful means? Any form of violence and intimidation will not bring peace. Yes, crime may go down for a time, individuals may cooperate, but only as long as they are being forced to. When the ‘well armed’ walk away all will resolve back into its original state of chaos and the building must begin again.
Right now we are in the midst of the sixty-four day season of non-violence commemorating the work of Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King and lasting through the memorials of Gandhi and King respectively, thirty years and sixty-four days apart.
Both of these men dedicated their lives to peace. They gave themselves over to the cause of their hearts; the freeing of their people from oppression. Both of these men were undoubtedly successful in their missions. Both of these men advocated non-violent civil disobedience; they did not lift a hand in violence for their causes.
Both of these men advocated breaking of laws that were inherently unjust as the duty of every individual, even at the risk of life. Both of these men went to jail for breaking the laws they stood in opposition to. And both of these men left a legacy of change through peaceful resistance.
These men invoked the power and presence of a ‘power for good greater than all humanity’ in order to win their respective causes. They used simple and universal laws every step of the way and maintained until they had the results they sought.
They both used the ‘Law of Attraction’ discussed in detail by Dr Ernest Holmes in a chapter, by the same name, of his book, “The Science of Mind”, published in 1938. This law, made famous in the movie “The Secret”, is only one of the universal laws they both used in creating success in their relative missions. They also used the Law of Correspondence, the Law of Circulation, the Law of Life and the many other universal laws.
They were in alignment with the Infinite.
And because of this they brought about peaceful transformation.
We too can make change happen for the betterment of ourselves and humanity through the active and practical use of Universal laws. We can bring about peace in our homes, hearts and communities. We can change the world, and all through peaceful action.
And action is the imperative. It is the first law we invoke, so obvious a law it was virtually passed over in “The Secret”. In order to have peace we must be willing to be changed, we must be willing to expose ourselves to new ways and means of thought and action. We must establish in our hearts a conviction and then hold to that conviction relentlessly in every situation, every conversation, and every action until the new way is revealed to us.
There will never be peace in the world without a willingness on the part of those who believe in peace to stand firm in their resolve irregardless of the atrocities that may be committed by a select few power hungry people.
