What’s “The Secret”? 

For weeks now, with every turn I hear whispers of “The Secret”.  The movie that has touched the world and reached the Oprah Show already twice.  It certainly has caused a stir in people’s lives; and what a wonderful stir it is. 

I meet people on almost a daily basis asking if I have seen “The Secret”.  And then someone standing near will inevitably ask; “Secret? What’s “The Secret”? 

And the pat response is given; “It’s a secret”.

No one wants to share a secret or if they do they certainly don’t want to get caught.  If they did it wouldn’t look good for their personal image; that ‘resume’ we all keep just for ourselves.  Yet everyone wants to know a secret.  As long as they don’t appear to be too curious they will spend a lot of time digging. 

Everyone has at least a little of the treasure hunter in them, everyone wants to discover some ‘magic’ secret that will turn their lives into a fairy tale story.  And this is what the movie offers and for those who have a little determination and focus this is what the movie delivers.

The good news is that “The Secret” is no secret at all.  The only real mystery about “The Secret” now is that it has been taught right here in your community and all over North America for so many years at a ‘New Thought’ Centre near you and somehow you may have missed it.

Someone once said:  “If you really want to hide something well, make it very obvious”; hence ‘the secret’.

And the flipside of this also proves true if you really want the world to know something just make them believe it is a secret.
It is a powerful tool that can change and transform lives.  I know personally because I have personally transformed my own life with this secret that is no secret. In fact one can safely say all the successful people you have ever met became successful by ‘applying’ this secret.

So is ‘The Secret” worth seeing, worth knowing? Yes, it absolutely is and the good side is you probably don’t have to even rent it with so many people now owning copies of it; but if you need to, some of your video stores will probably be carrying it.

Well I have done it; I have talked all about this secret and I have not divulged it.  Why?  Because I was brought up to ‘keep a secret’ because the programming of repeated suggestions has become my unconscious belief whether it is right or wrong.  And to step out of that programming will take effort.  Because those beliefs programmed into me by well meaning parents and teachers are the reason that this secret has remained such a secret for so long in my life.

But I’m willing to break out of my imprisoning beliefs, I’m willing to do the uncomfortable, if it means becoming that person that I would love to be I’m willing to question even my deepest beliefs to see if they are mine or if they are just the opinions of a well meaning parent long past their ‘expiry date’ and now only souring my daily experiences.  I am willing to reveal “The Secret” to you right now.
