Page 2 of 2 Many of us who want to make a change don’t know where to begin, there just seems to be so much to do out there. So we don’t try, we don’t get involved, we leave it to someone else. We leave it to someone with more time and less responsibility, someone who doesn’t have a family or a job. After all what difference could we really make? It has always been just a little easier to leave it to our children or someone else’s to go fight our war or to protest against it. In truth we are the only ones who can make a difference. We are the ones who `have’. All those who `don’t have’ can do is what they have been doing. We can take action; if we are not Christians, to write letters, sign petitions and show up for any activities that support peace and harmony. If we are Christians we can practice living the principles of these teachings of Jesus. We can choose forgiveness and humility. We can choose to bring healing and of course, we can choose to speak out loudly and clearly for the good we choose to see; without a hidden intention to convert others to our way. We can all choose to get passionate about the world around us. We can act on what is alive in us. We can if we choose do a thing or two to make a real difference in the world locally and globally. I am not disavowing the work that many of us do; I am simply acknowledging what is alive in my heart today. There is so much a person can do on any given day that enriches the world; it is fun, it is empowering and life giving. In order to move into this rich experience we must act consciously to live our passion. Often we must choose to work with people who ‘bother’ us. We must choose people who have opinions and attitudes because, really, they are the people who care. They are the ones who are alive. They are the ones who spark my passion, my life and livingness. They are the ones I would count myself as one of.
