Mid-week Inspiration, Challenges happen; life would be dull without any challenges. We either create those challenges in our thinking or by our thinking. When we seek to increase good in our world, when our actions are motivated by thoughts of the greater good, we are challenging ourselves in our thinking. When we seek to get from the world our challenges are created by our thinking. This story illustrates well this process.
A man having purchased a case of very rare, very expensive cigars insured them against fire among other things. Within a month, having smoked his entire stockpile of cigars the man filed a claim against the insurance company. In his claim, the man stated the cigars were lost "in a series of small fires". The man sued.... and won. The judge recognized that the claim was frivolous yet was bound by the lettering of the contract and stated the company was obligated to pay the claim which the insurance company accepted. They paid the man $15,000 for the rare cigars he lost in "the fires". After the man cashed the check, however, the insurance company had him arrested on 24 counts of arson. With his own insurance claim and testimony from the previous case being used against him, the man was convicted of intentionally burning his insured property and sentenced to 24 months in jail and a $24,000 fine.
This actual happening illustrates well the 'cause and effect' nature of our thinking. It does not illustrate the subtler aspects of the law in its binding nature nor does it illustrate how blind we are to our own patterns of thinking and believing. Beliefs are merely thoughts made habit by continued application.
One of the greatest challenges faced by our society and the world at large is a belief that we/you are insignificant. No single belief could be a greater crime against creation; this one belief mercilessly binds the individual to mediocrity. It is the disease driving intelligent people into the shackles of subservience. And it acts with the same blind unconsciousness that was delivered to it by our acceptance.
There is not nor could there ever be anything insignificant about you. You are a child of the Infinite endowed through your very power of thought with the same creative power. To the degree, and only to the degree, you choose to recognize this power, it comes alive and demonstrates in your affairs. As long as the individual continues to accept any idea of smallness s/he is bound to live an imprisoned life; a life where dreams forever remain unreachable. It is time for you to be audacious, break out of the limited thinking of a well trained society and give to the world your dreams. The Universe seeks nothing less than to celebrate with you the springing forth of your unique ideas. Today is the day, and all creation stands behind you. What have you got to lose, your own mediocrity? Oh why not just once more step into your Divinity. You truly are beautiful and I know it so challenge yourself today in your thinking and watch your good unfold.
