Mid-week Inspiration,

Five O'clock in the morning on moving day, the house is empty except for a few remaining boxes of dubious value quickly thrown together in a hasty attempt to have everything out by high noon.  Breakfast this morning? Pizza and Coke; all pots and pans are packed away deep in the heart of one of the moving vehicles.

A one day move after ten years in one place and without the movers is potentially one of the greatest acts of faith that a person can undergo.  No moving van, no packers and movers, no guarantied help and a looming deadline for it all to come together.  It has truly tested me.

Yet what sort of faith has it tested?  The faith in an Infinite Universe to allow me to carry forward all my junk?

What a blessing to know that this Infinite Universe so loves me that It would support me in hanging on to all my junk.  And constantly my little committee within keeps saying, “hang on to it, you’ll need it, don’t let go yet.”  What kind of faith is this?  This is not faith, it is fear dressed up in the finery of practicality.  That little voice within continues: “don’t you think fear is a little strong, after all what is wrong with being practical.”  So I will carry most of it around for a little longer.

How much do we look like this on the inside? Full of thoughts and beliefs we don’t want to abandon.  I know for myself this is the truth of it, this is exactly why real change is so difficult to make.  I love those old beliefs and judgments; they provide me with a sense of comfort, a way of identifying who I am.  The challenge is in recognizing that they also define who I will never become.  Like my house there really is no room for any more junk inside, I am full of it.

With this realization it is important to recognize that this is the way of nature; there is no emptiness within her.  And the same laws that work in nature work in our consciousness, “The Universe abhors a vacuum”.

The answer then is to let go of it, real faith is in the knowing that that which I need is already mine, it naturally flows to the one who has perfect faith.

This was one of the most important teachings of the master teacher, Jesus.  When we have perfect faith (meaning we don’t have to carry our houses around, Jesus never carried his house or for that matter much of anything) all we need do is ask knowing we have already received.

I ask today for the strength and faith to let go of all I no longer need; no garage sale just a give away.  Many blessings to all of you with this early delivery of  Light Mail on moving day.

In Love and Light,
