Mid-week Light Mail,

This week I had a major challenge come up in my life, to me one of near catastrophic magnitude.  I made a declaration; no more of an ongoing pattern in my life.  I no longer accept this limited experience.

Life obliged.  It removed from my 'life' that limited experience.

The challenge for me was 'no replacement'.  I had declared for myself the perfect replacement but in that moment it did not show up.

What had happened was a common situation; I had more passion about the old situation being gone than I had about the new idea...

I had to forgive myself, let go and allow my passion for the new opportunity reveal itself in my experience.  Once this was done (thankfully in a matter of minutes) the answer revealed itself.

Sometimes life presents a challenge.  Sometimes we declare for ourselves we've had enough of a situation.  We say that's it! no more! it's time for change.  And the Universe (or life itself, or the people or circumstances in our lives) responds.  The challenge for us is that the response rarely appears the way we hoped or intended it to look.  Many times it appears as an outright catastrophe.  This is enough to make the average person shy away from change, away from making decisions that may rock the boat.

So it is we as a society accept the status-quo, continue living with a little bit of suffering or discomfort for long periods of time until eventually that discomfort appears in our lives as disease, poverty or abandonment.

Successful people recognize this cycle and so embrace the possibility of discomfort.  They declare for themselves a willingness to move forward, to risk catastrophe knowing they still have the freedom of their volition.  They can always make a new choice.  On some level they know the discomfort must be felt whether or not we move through it, the choice to be indecisive is the choice to prolong and aggravate discomfort until eventually it becomes dis-ease.

We too, in this spiritual practice recognize the real possibility of discomfort until we have truly let go of old patterns.  We also recognize the need to move through the challenges (as we call it, resistance).  The big difference between us and some people is that we have effective spiritual tools for moving  through that resistance, and we know what they are.  We know the power of creating a positive mental image of where we choose to be, we have the support of like minded people, of teachers and a solid proven philosophy.  The real challenge is in doing that work to create that image with feeling.  I embrace and support you as you choose to take the risk of greatness in your life.

Blessings,
