Mid-week Inspiration, Doubt, doubt, doubt, it seems to be a prerequisite to every new experience. I don't recall ever having had a new idea where doubt didn't seem to enter in to the process. That would seem to make it a law of our existence, something we are bound to. Yet doubt appears to limit our greatness, it holds us down and keeps us imprisoned in a state of; I can't, I shouldn't, it's not right, who am I, and so on in a monotonous litany of limitation.
This kind of thinking runs counter to any idea of a higher or Divine power any great leader through the ages has voiced. I have often found myself limiting my experiences by attaching my own emotional interpretation to a natural process thereby creating my own comedy of errors, judgment. In fact this attachment of emotional limitation is a fundamental key to the humour we respond to. Resistance is nature in balance, doubt is a human contrivance. I often tell people when they come to me expressing challenges regarding new ventures; "that's the resistance". I now explain to them resistance is natural. In physics there are three forces holding the universe together; gravity, the strong force, and the weak force. If these forces did not exist we wouldn't have a universe. How can we think we should be exempt of these same forces as we seek to move through our lives, they are the very forces that define our individuality, our uniqueness. Yet somewhere in our childhood we have come to attach fear and doubt to this resistance and instead of acknowledging, "that's resistance", letting go of it and moving on we cling to it and the prison of limitation it creates for us. Doubt is the Dreamslayer, it will destroy every possibility of greatness we have; insidiously creeping in to a bold and brazen idea, stealing victory from our hearts before we have even breathed our ideas. And at the end of the day we will claim justification of those very doubts, that proved our misery, limitation and littleness, as our saviors. We will sing our old dirge of arguments. "There was never any insurance guaranteeing my success, nothing to support me through the failure my doubts assured me of." "I was right not to change, to step out and venture forth, I was right to remain in my safe little cocoon." "I was right to accept mediocrity." God's only insurance in this world is our own willingness and determination in harmony with our healthy intentions. The universe supports us but it can only support us through us. Our determination and willingness is key to our unfolding greatness. Our doubts are only proof that the universe does support us exactly according to our beliefs. We must venture out, walk through the fire of our own fears and doubts, raise our vision and step by step move forward. The Universe does support us. It is the very resistance in nature that creates the energy of change. Our resistance recognized is the guarantee of our success, it is Divine expectation, the pressure of the sling shot being drawn back to launch our dreams into fruition. The universe is waiting, it's up to us to step forward, as William Shatner of Star Trek said "To boldly go where no man has gone before. I know it is within each of you because I have proven it in my own life and I am no different than you. Step up and let me cheer you on. Yours is the greatness this world is waiting for. You are the final piece in this puzzle of peace, will you step in? In Love and Light, |
