Mid-week Inspiration,                                                                 

My deep joy is before me, I have an opportunity to move into a greater experience in my life.  I have an opportunity to move more fully into the work of my desiring.  Any of you who know me know I am passionate about the empowerment of humanity through the discovery of their spiritual magnificence.  To see another person who truly believed they were somehow dirty and somehow rotten at the core discover the truth of their innate and indestructible spark of light within to me is a joy beyond measure.

It is amazing to see how much these people have to give once they let go of this heavy burden.  It is wonderful to witness the awakening joy in lives that have been filled with pain. 

The welfare recipient who goes on to discover wealth and love and the joy of giving, the unemployed who goes on to rediscover self worth through an unexpected work opportunity,  the person who has been so filled with depression awakening to the realization of how much they have to give; every one of these is a real story unfolding. The millionaire who discovers that the joy being sought through the acquisition of wealth is right at hand knows, as do each of these people, that it is all because they discovered that God never stopped nor ever could stop loving them. 

My new work allows me to be closer to these people more of the time; my new work allows me to be more involved in making a real difference in the world and in my community.  Many years ago I discovered that true joy comes from giving of ourselves, true joy comes from enriching the lives of those around us.  The more we commit to this path, no matter what our personal race, creed, country, or gospel the closer we come to our Creator and the inherent joy of that reunion.  The more we come to this place of enrichment in our hearts and minds the more we are blessed with love, prosperity and joy. 

Today I am filled with joy for I truly see that my journey is closer to my final destination.  Today I am filled with happiness for I realize that my discovery is every persons discovery; my work, my joy are a beacon to all I meet.  And by the light of my happiness they are lifted up to embrace the things that bring joy into their lives.  Each person I meet, by the example of my life is encouraged to give more and make this world a better place. 

For me God is a real presence that is only discovered by our willingness to act in a loving, affirmative and empowering manner.  It does not matter what books we read; it does not matter what church we sit in and it certainly doesn’t matter how right we claim to be, it only matters how we choose to live, think and feel.  “Love God with all thy heart, mind and soul” and “love your neighbour as yourself”, and we all do the second just fine.  How we talk and think about others is a perfect reflection of how much we love ourselves. 

Discovering our good is all about discovering the good in others particularly the ones we feel have really hurt us; it is all about forgiveness; until we forgive them we remain prisoners of our own anger, we are bound by our self righteousness and cut off from the love of the Holy.  Some once asked me “Would you rather be right or healed?”  Every day I choose again that today I will let go of being right, I will be teachable, I will be healed.
