Today’s mid week inspiration deals with some real issues; it is a call to action for those who want a push.  If you are not interested in having yourself challenged I invite that you not read it.

The world is on the brink of something. Many people agree with this prognosis.  Yet like most prognoses we can’t really define it in any closer terms than that. 

We see global changes happening as fast as we see technological changes.  More and more we discover any state of conflict leads directly to a state of chaos; where the only dubious winners are the ones who can safely sit at home, far away from the wars.  At the end of the day even the most secure of us are impacted by the global environmental damages of such conflicts.

Youth are the most precious commodity of our society and potentially the most untapped reserve we have. 

In our community alone there are probably close to a thousand graduates from local high schools each year.  They have just completed on the average thirteen years of school.  Many of the attentive one can share facts and figures from the last few months of schooling.  Some will have developed a skill or two that will support them in a chosen profession.  Many will have discovered some lifelong interests and even more will have found a friend or two to last a life time.

It was almost unbelievable to me except that it really happened.  I received a request to answer a questionnaire for an individual doing a thesis, for a degree with the Protestant Theology Department at the University of Strasbourg, France.

Always willing to help people with their personal advancement I thought nothing of it and said yes I would do it.

On the shores of beautiful Kootenay Lake in Nelson.

This has been a road trip into my heart.  In the journey toward a changed life and a changed world, I constantly reach out for new levels of understanding. 

I am not unique, not even in my ongoing commitment to a greater level of understanding.  It is exactly because I am not unique that I continue to have such hope for this world.
